Newsday

Available for over a year

A law to introduce new controls on the internet has come into force in Russia. The "sovereign internet" law gives the government wide-ranging powers, in theory, to filter and restrict traffic on the Russian internet; in the Philippines, President Duterte asks his deputy, and fierce critic, to take over his wide ranging war against drugs; and the US House of Representatives has passed a resolution to formally proceed with the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.
