The Argentine President, Mauricio Macri, has acknowledged defeat in the country's presidential election. Allies of the United States have warned that the fight against the Islamic State group is not yet over, in spite of the death of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. 200,000 people in northern California have been ordered to leave their homes and two million have been left without electricity because of wildfires.
