Musician Leo Green: ‘London’s best view is from the BBC toilets’

Leo Green has spent more than thirty-five years at the heart of Britain's music industry. Born in 1972, he’s the son of broadcaster and jazz enthusiast Benny Green. He grew up in Watford, but in his own words ‘couldn’t tell you a thing about it’, since his Dad took up him up to the West End so frequently. He remembers the likes of Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald hanging out in the family home. His storied music career has included performing with the likes of Van Morrison, Jools Holland Ronnie Wood and Jerry Lee Lewis. Recently he’s fronted the Van Morrison Alumni Band—made up of musicians who toured and recorded with the great man. As a broadcaster he’s presented programmes on Radio 2 and now Jazz FM. Robert Elms found out about Leo Green's favourite haunts, memories, pet hates and everything in between.
