The murky tales from Cambridge’s Spinning House
Available for over a year
Volunteers from a family history group have begun transcribing the records of at least 6,000 women, imprisoned by Cambridge University in the 19th Century. The women, who were accused of soliciting in the city, were held at what was known as the Spinning House. Louise Hulland has more. (Photo credit: Cambridgeshire Collection)
