"Children are going to school in dirty uniforms"

Make a Difference: Hampshire, Dorset and IoW

Available for over a year

Sharing toothbrushes with siblings or attending school in a dirty uniform are the realities for 1.1 million children living in hygiene poverty in Britain, according to a report from the charity In Kind Direct. Throughout January BBC Radio Solent is helping collect donated toiletries and cleaning items so local community schemes can share them with anyone who needs a little extra support. Michael Gidney is the CEO of In Kind Direct, he's been speaking to BBC Radio Solent's Alun Newman.
