M6 Update

The M6 Motorway is likely to be closed for much of the day after a woman died. Emergency Crews were called to the scene following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and police haven't yet formally identified her. The moroway was closed in both directions and remains shut between junction 23 at Haydock and Junction 26 at Orrell. Police are advising people to review their travel plans and be patient with emergency services while the incident is ongoing. Photo credit: Getty
