Contaminated fuel has cost me over £6k

Available for over a year

Drivers who filled up at The Mount Service Station in Shrewsbury have claimed they broke down after contaminated fuel caused extensive damage to their vehicles. Essar, which provides the fuel, says water leaked into an underground tank, causing an issue with engines - leading to hundreds of pounds worth of damage. Essar Energy said in a statement, “We are aware of an issue at the independently owned and operated Essar-branded site on The Mount in Shrewsbury. Customer safety and product quality are our highest priorities and all fuel delivered to the site fully met our required specification. We understand from the dealer who owns the site that some fuel was affected by water ingress into an underground fuel tank. Once the presence of water in the underground tank was identified, the affected tanks were immediately taken out of service. The dealer has informed us that this issue has been resolved and customers can confidently buy fuel from this site. Any customer who believes their vehicle may have been affected should contact the dealer directly: Mount Service Station, Shrewsbury SY3 8PF.”
