'A painting so terrifying, the story wrote itself'

Secret Shropshire

Available for over a year

Do you dare look at the haunted painting of The Nags Head in Shrewsbury? Legend has it that you may come to an unfortunate end if you do. The painting of a man with a trident and eerie, sunken eyes has inspired a play by the Make it Beautiful theatre company in London. And now, after a successful run in the capital, the production is coming to Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn in July. Felix Grainger who wrote the play, dared BBC Radio Shropshire’s Mark Elliott to come and see the painting.
