Episode details

Available for over a year
Leicestershire’s famous landmark Old John is a sight much-loved by many, but few people have had the chance to see it from the inside. The earliest recorded use of the name is on a map of 1754, which records a windmill on the site, some 30 years before the tower was built. The tower itself began life as a ruined folly, and last year was refurbished by the Bradgate Park Trust with new displays on show about its history. BBC Leicester’s Ben Jackson went for a look around. Produced by Pete Wardman.
