This is the fifth episode in a seven-part series on the Cold War and the Vietnam War, brought to you by Bitesize GCSE History. Throughout this series, we are examining the key moments in the Cold War, its impact on Europe and the rest of the world, and how it was driven by the conflicting ideologies of capitalism and communism. In this episode, Katie and Datshiane will focus on the Korean War and how the growing distrust and hostility between the superpowers expanded to a new front in Asia. They’ll explore the causes of the war, key events, the response of the United Nations, and China’s role in the conflict, as well as the broader impact of the Korean War. They’ll be sharing revision hints and tips on how to remember key facts. There will also be essay and exam tips, a quiz to test your knowledge, and we’ll end with a summary of everything we’ve covered. Additionally, we’ll check in with our Bitesize time-traveling reporter, Jordan, who will be reporting from a key moment in this history. Remember, it might help to have something to make notes on, and feel free to press stop and rewind whenever you need to. Suitable for AQA, Edexcel and OCR A.
