Paris: Grassroots to Glory

Available for over a year

Artistic swimming duo synchronised from childhood Izzy Thorpe and Kate Shortman first swam together aged 8 in Bristol. They’re looking for their first medal in their second Olympics in Paris. The pair competed together in Tokyo, but this will be the first time in front of a crowd. Their mum’s also competed together in the same sport. Kate’s mum Maria speaks to the BBC’s Gordon Smart. BBC Radio Bristol’s Joe Sims speaks to Izzy’s dad Andy. Picture: Getty/Oli Scarff
