Riots, missiles thrown, police injured and a community library hub set up fire - just some of the ugly scenes in Liverpool at the weekend. Liverpool's Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram tweeted "Let's call this out for what it is; mindless thuggery by people looking for an excuse to spew hatred and carry out acts of violence. These scenes shame our city and those responsible deserve to face the full weight of the law".
