Founder of Bulwell youth charity having "sleepless nights" over fears for future funding

Verity Cowley

Available for over a year

Bulwell-based youth charity Helping Kids Achieve gets part of its funding from Nottingham City Council, which declared itself effectively bankrupt in November 2023. Since the announcement, cuts to services have been proposed in order to close the £50million funding gap in 2024/2025. Government commissioners have been appointed to help run the authority and councillors meet next Monday (4 March) to confirm a budget for the next financial year. The founder of Helping Kids Achieve, Keiren Thompson, shares his concerns with BBC Radio Nottingham's Maria Rubio.
