The Very Bazaar celebrates 50 year anniversary

Jo Bostock

Available for over a year

The independent shop on Silver Street, The Very Bazaar is a Leicester institution. In fact, they’re turning 50 years old this year, and have had a bit of a party to celebrate. Selling, amongst other things, crystals, jewellery, fashion accessories, incense, soft furnishings and ornaments, the store is a family run business and may even be one of the longest running independent shops in the city centre. People working there say it's like Aladdin’s cave filled with unique fair-trade products from all over the world. BBC Radio Leicester's Kevin Ncube went to hear more about the plans and spoke to Maz, who owns the store with her husband.
