The Omagh bombing: Two of us still strong

Tuesday 15 August marks the 25th anniversary of a bombing in County Tyrone that killed 29 people, including a woman pregnant with twins. The attack happened on a Saturday afternoon during a festival in Omagh and was carried out by dissident republican group the Real IRA. It was the most lethal bombing in the three decades of violence in Northern Ireland. Kate Walls and Rachel Galbraith are close friends who were seriously injured in it: Kate lost one of her legs. It led them to forge an even closer bond in the 25 years since. This year, the two have done a skydive to raise money for a trauma centre which supports the victims.
