Whatlington residents save the Parish from extinction

Whatlington residents have stepped-in to save their parish council from extinction. Only one person stood for election onto Whatlington Parish Council last month. And it looked highly likely that the council would have to fold! But after a plea to residents - six people are standing in new elections taking place. So what is a parish council? It all sounds a bit Vicar of Dibley.
