Leicester students learn how to keep bees

Ady Dayman

Available for over a year

With the appetite for bee hives on the rise as people look at ways to tackle the climate crisis by reversing the decline in bees, students at an inner city Leicester school have taken matters into their own hands to find out more about how to keep and look after them. Working closely with the Leicestershire and Rutland Beekeeping Association, the students at Moat Community College have been discovering the importance of beekeeping and have also started their own 'Green Team'. BBC Radio Leicester's Major Singh Takhar has been talking to students and staff involved in 'The Green Team' to find out what impact it has had.
