Why are so many workers going on strike?

5 Questions On

Available for over a year

It's shaping up to be a winter of industrial strife. Tens of thousands of workers have downed tools to request pay deals that keep up with the rising cost of living. Train and postal services have been disrupted, there have been school closures, gridlock in the courts, overflowing bins – and in a sign of the times, even nurses have voted to strike for the first time ever. The BBC’s Employment Correspondent Zoe Conway has the answers to 5 key questions. Image Credit: Anadolu Agency via Getty
