London riots 10 years on: from Tottenham to Hackney

Hackney resident Pauline Pearce saw what was going on in her neighbourhood as the disturbances spread from Tottenham to Hackney and she had to do something about it. Pauline became an overnight celebrity as she was caught on camera passionately telling rioters to stop. Her spirit and community activism have since been commended and Pauline is now a somewhat of a local celebrity.
