Bryce Wettstein: Skateboarding is 'just one massive friendship'

Newsday

Available for over a year

Skateboarding has just finished at the Olympics, with Australia's Keegan Palmer winning gold in the Men's Park with a stunning run. The sport made its debut this year, and has won over many fans with its youthful competitors. The American Olympic skateboarder Bryce Wettstein, who came sixth in yesterday's Women's Park final, told Newsday about the camaraderie that is built up around the sport. “I think skateboarding allows all of us to be consolidated into one massive friendship. Having a global stage where skateboarding can be showcased … we can see everybody reunited in skateboarding. For our whole lives … we know how much we love skateboarding so we’ve never really had this rivalry, we're just routing for one another."
