Rarelyalways is an artist whose jazz inflected hip-hop tunes never fail to impress. Doused in scratchy beats, deep basslines and afrocentric rhythms, his music feels instinctive and raw. The Hackney native started out playing with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and London’s iconic Tomorrow’s Warriors where he developed the skills and talent he showcases under this project. After the release of his single ‘Figure’ in 2019, which features jazz heavyweights Moses Boyd and Tyrone Isaac Stuart, he caught the attention of local label Innovative Leisure. It was through the label that he released his debut EP 'Baby Buffalo'. Much like the rest of his music, lead single ‘Lamenting’ is raw and vulnerable as he unpacks the emotions that built up throughout lockdown.
