Maria was unable to secure a referral to a Long Covid clinic and said she was left feeling like she was lying about her symptoms. Claire Hastie from the Long Covid Support Facebook group says that Maria's experience is not uncommon, especially for those who became ill in the first wave, but the NHS is getting better at treating the condition. NHS England has invested £34m in a network of 83 Long Covid clinics, which includes two in Coventry and Warwickshire, and is expecting to see increasing numbers of patients.
