"Abide With Me" a song of football as well as a song of faith

Breakfast on BBC Radio Leicester

Available for over a year

So, Leicester City are in the FA Cup Final! They take on Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday. The Hymn "Abide With Me" has been sung at FA Cup Finals since 1927. It's a strange, but deeply held, connection between the hymn, and the iconic annual event. Over almost a hundred years, "Abide With Me" has become a song of football as well as a song of faith. Here's some thoughts from BBC Radio Leicester's own Ian Stringer. Leicester's very own DMU Gospel Choir have recorded their own version of the hymn.
