BBC Touch Test: What do we consider acceptable touching in public?

Discovery

Available for over a year

Almost 40,000 people across 112 countries took part in the BBC Touch Test between 21 January 2020 and 30 March 2020. The results found that almost two thirds of us dislike being touched by a stranger. However, as psychologist Dr Natalie Bowling explains, there are some interesting age differences in where people like being touched and by whom. (Image: Hand on shoulder, Credit: Getty Images.)
