Mark suffered from a hearing condition that affected the volume of the sounds around - and inside - him. He couldn't hear his friends in a noisy pub but could hear the sound of every bodily function amplified in his head - including his eyes moving from left to right. Everyday sounds such as sirens, horns and the sound of him eating crisps became so loud that life became 'almost unbearable'. Eventually, after living with the condition for several years, a specialist identified the problem. Photo: A man's eyes Credit: Getty Images
