A tribute to Coventry’s Covid-19 lockdown story. Composed by Gareth Withers with musicians from Orchestra of the Swan and singers from Coventry and Warwickshire. The song not only celebrates a city coming together in song but reflects some key moments that we’ve heard about on BBC CWR, from The Barn Kitchen feeding over 70,000 meals to NHS and key workers and the community that came together to make a difference to one family during lockdown. Over the past 100 days the people of Coventry have come together to care, to fundraise, to shop and to clap for family, neighbours and strangers. “Together we will rise” is a fitting tribute to this city’s finest and its only right they get to be the headline act to launch “Cov Fest” .
