This choral work with baritone and soprano solo comes from a fractured time in Germany: 1935. Orf gives us a snapshot of humanity: beautiful youths and cruel old men; drunkards, angels and a roasted swan. It's opening - 'O Fortuna' - has been used in many adverts, TV series and films, because of its epic sound - but the whole work is filled with marvels.
