Breakfast on BBC Radio Surrey

Available for over a year

An ice hockey player tells BBC Surrey about the "scary" moment he announced his bisexuality. Manchester Storm's Zach Sullivan, from Redhill, Surrey, is believed to be the first professional ice hockey player to come out. He hopes his decision "will give other hockey players around the country the same confidence to do the same". A club spokesperson described the defenceman as "a role model for so many people, young and old". Mr Sullivan, 25, says he wants to help younger players feel comfortable with their sexuality too. BBC Surrey also speaks to out-gay first team football manager Luke Tuffs of Knaphill FC and to Di Cunningham, organiser of Proud Canaries, an LGBT+ football fan group at Norwich City.
