Tracy-Ann Oberman plays a woman whose teenage son is accused of violent sexual crimes in ‘Mother of Him’, currently on stage at the Park Theatre. She recounts running lines with her own mother while preparing for the role, and how her mum remarked that the character was “so un-motherly”. Are our expectations of mothers reasonable?
