Oil test-drilling fears in Surrey

Breakfast on BBC Radio Surrey

Available for over a year

Businesses in Waverley fear their livelihoods would be at risk if energy companies are granted permission to test-drill for oil. UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) wants to develop a site near Dunsfold. People living there are worried the work would spoil views and cause disruption. BBC Surrey speaks to Ashley Herman who runs a brewery and a farm on his land at Dunsfold. UKOG says surrounding land would not be industrialised and it insists drilling would not cause pollution. Another company iGas is looking to drill land near Loxhill and says it would consult locally before submitting an application.
