A Clockwork Condition

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

It would go on to inspire one of the most controversial films of the 1970s. The book A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, published in 1962, explores a darkly dystopian future in which the state attempts to cure a teenage delinquent. Now a new manuscript detailing Burgess’ ideas for a sequel has been uncovered. Gordon Brewar discusses the film and the book with Andrew Biswell, a biographer of Anthony Burgess and Professor of Modern Literature at Manchester Metropolitan University, and the film critic Siobhan Synnot.
