The World Snooker Championship takes place in a sporting venue like no other. The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield is beloved by players and fans alike. As the 2019 tournament gets underway, BBC Radio Sheffield hosts a celebration of snooker in front of a live audience. On the panel: three people who know The Crucible from different sides of the table: 2005 World Champion Shaun Murphy, referee Leo Scullion and snooker journalist and authour Hector Nunns. They talk about what makes The Crucible so special, the future of snooker and their hopes for the tournament. Murphy talks about his route into snooker, including a jaw-dropping story about being "left for dead" at the hands of bullies. There are also plenty of Crucible memories, including a story you won't believe about Mark Selby! The panel are in conversation with Andy Giddings and Mike McCarthy at Sheffield Hallam University.
