Breast implants ban call by former stunt woman

Breakfast on BBC Radio Surrey

Available for over a year

A former stunt woman is campaigning for a ban on breast implants after suffering a series of health problems herself. Dawn Beaven from Wallington blames implants she had when she was 24. The Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said most cases of Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) have been reported in patients with textured implants, but they were very rare and there was not currently enough scientific evidence of a causal relationship. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons has called for more research.
