Surrey Fire & Rescue 'very poorly organised, inadequate and inefficient'

The fire service watchdog has condemned Surrey Fire and Rescue as very poorly organised, inefficient and not even providing a basic core service well. Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) says its report is scathing and the root cause is poor leadership not money. Lead inspector Zoe Billingham said Surrey Fire and Rescue does not have enough staff, relies on overtime and is inadequate at keeping people safe.
