What will change when Tumblr bans adult content?

As of Monday 17th December 2018 social media blogging site Tumblr will no longer allow users to post adult content and will flag content already on the site. Why was Tumblr important for marginalised people like the sex worker community? And what effect will this ban have on groups like them?
