Survivor (For The Grenfell Survivors) by Robinson, Sanders, and Vince

Late Junction

Available for over a year

A brand new piece of poetry and music, dedicated to the survivors of the Grenfell Tower disaster. Recorded in West London at Maida Vale Studios on June 14th 2018, exactly a year after the fire. Poet Roger Robinson, drummer Mark Sanders, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Vince were assembled and introduced to each other by Late Junction on Radio 3, and invited to spend a day creating work together in the studio. The first piece they did originated with a few lines Robinson had written about Grenfell Tower, and the three of them sat down to improvise around them, without much conversation or planning. Hear the rest of the session via the Late Junction Sessions podcast.
