Savita Halappanavar died from infection after miscarrying her first child in an Irish hospital in October 2012. Her requests for an abortion were refused, but her family believe this could have saved the 31 year olds life. Kitty Holland is a Social Affairs correspondent for The Irish Times and broke the story.
