Japanese Dude Food is predicted to be the big food trend for 2018. Dude Food is American for anything laden in calories – it’s what some people in the UK call Dirty Food. Japanese Dude Food brings together things like pizza, fries, burgers, donuts and some Japanese ingredients. Waitrose is now doing it and there are new Dude Food restaurants opening up in London. Mike Young goes to visit a restaurant, and Winifred Robinson talks to Shokofeh Hejazi from the Food People, a food and drink trends analyst, about why dude food has become so popular.
