To mark the centenary of the RAF, 95-year-old John Martin from Cardigan has been sharing his incredible story of bravery and danger during World War Two. John was captured by enemy soldiers when his Lancaster bomber was shot down near Berlin in 1944. As we heard in Parts 1 and 2,, during enemy fire, John somehow managed to pull open his parachute and land - alone and confused - in a field somewhere near Berlin. He was arrested by German personnel, questioned and then put in the back of a car. Incredibly, in the back of the car, he saw his friend Dave Alletson, an engineer who had also survived the attack. John and Dave knew where they were going - Dulag Luft - a Lufftwaffe interrogation camp for Allied prisoners. In Part 3 (of 5), John explains what happened next.
