Tiana liked school but school didn’t like her. She had lots of friends and the teachers were kind but for Tiana the world was like someone had been fiddling around with the TV controls and made the colours too bright and the sound too loud. When she wore her special blue tinted glasses it made her world feel calm but she had enough to deal with without looking different too. Tiana’s only way of making sense of things was to copy her friends – she would laugh when they laughed, smile when they smiled and cheered when they cheered.
