Nativity shows "should not use live animals"

Breakfast on BBC Radio Surrey

Available for over a year

There is a call to ban live animals from nativity shows after the Three Kings arrived on real camels at a shopping centre event in Leatherhead, Surrey. Simon Cowell from the Wildlife Aid Foundation said councils should not be putting animals on display for public amusement. Mole Valley District Council said the Christmas show brought crowds to the shops and was a success but said it would carefully consider whether to use live animals in future events.
