What is it like being the 48-year-old intern?

The World Tonight

Available for over a year

'My name is Katherine and I'm an intern at The Spectator' is the rather unassuming beginning of an article in the latest edition of the magazine. However, the author of the piece, Katherine Forster, is not like the other interns because she is a 48-year-old, mother of three, who has decided to change careers and to start again from the bottom. She told The World Tonight presenter James Coomarasamy that when she first met the editor of the magazine and introduced herself as the new intern, he "didn't look at all surprised, though he must have been astonished, and replied oh you are are our first non-kid intern ever".
