Jake Arnott chooses Prick Up Your Ears, the 1987 film about playwright Joe Orton and his lover Kenneth Halliwell. Directed by Stephen Frears from Alan Bennett's screenplay, the film is being re-released in cinemas this summer. Jake Arnott is the author of novels including The Long Firm, Johnny Come Home and The House of Rumour. His latest book, The Fatal Tree, depicts the criminal world of 18th century London.
