Andrew Peach

Available for over a year

The new twelve-sided £1 coin is being released on 28th March, in an attempt to stop forgers from copying the UK's most popular coin. Phillip Mussel, Director of Coin News: "It's going to look very different from the one we're used to. "It's not going to be much bigger, it's slightly thinner from memory, but it's going to be different certainly - you're going to notice it straight away. "1 in 30, which represents a lot of money out there, are fake. The problem with the old £1 coin is that it's just a lump of metal."
