The Newbury Weekly News celebrate their 150th birthday...

Andrew Peach

Available for over a year

With the local newspaper having printed their first copy in February 1867, current Editor Andy Murrill told Andrew Peach that the Newbury Weekly News still has a place in the modern media landscape. "It's a hell of a milestone, I had a real spring in my step this morning. It's not everyday that you can say you're the Editor of a newspaper that's 150 years old. "It's all about the small things, if you get those right then the paper is strong. "In the way that vinyl has come back, and the way that real ale has come back into the pubs, I think local newspapers have a future in the modern media landscape."
