Professor Deborah Lipstadt, is an American academic and author of ‘Denying the Holocaust’ the book which led to her being sued by historian David Irving for calling him a holocaust denier. In a new film based on the court case Deborah Lipstadt is played by Rachel Weisz. Deborah speaks to Jane about her decision not to settle out of court, what it was like being tried in the High Court in London and why she thinks the judgement is even more relevant in our ‘post-truth’ times.
