Varnish feels 'betrayed' by British Cycling

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Former European champion Jess Varnish feels "betrayed" by British Cycling, according to her lawyer Simon Fenton. It comes after learning that only one of Varnish's nine complaints against former British Cycling Technical Director Shane Sutton have been upheld. Sutton was found to have used the word "bitches" to Varnish, but claims he used more serious offensive and discriminatory language were not upheld. Fenton insists this verdict won't be the end of the matter because Varnish wants to ensure this does not "happen to anybody else". This clip was first broadcast on 5 live Sport, Thursday 8 December 2016.
