Kenny Baker was “proud” of being the “most iconic film character that exists” says Roger Christian, the set designer for Star Wars: A New Hope. Speaking to 5 live’s Dotun Adebayo, Roger described the moment Kenny started moving in the first prototype of R2-D2 as “like striking destiny.” British actor Kenny Baker, who starred as R2-D2 in six Star Wars films, has died aged 81 after a long illness. This clip is originally from Up All Night Sunday 14 August 2016.
