MPs set to question Coe again

The chairman of the Commons culture, media and sport committee has said world athletics president Lord Coe is "almost certain" to be questioned again over how drug allegations against Russia were handled. Russia was suspended last year from international competition after the World Anti-Doping Agency accused it of operating a "state-sponsored" drugs programme. Lord Coe, who was vice president of athletics' governing body for years before he took the top job, was asked about it by MPs on the Culture sports and media select committee and suggested that he had not been aware of the Russian scandal. An investigation by the BBC's Panorama and the Daily Mail has suggested that Lord Coe had been sent an email containing an attachment which detailed allegations about a Russian athlete who was not only doping but also being blackmailed by athletics officials. Jesse Norman, who chairs the Commons committee, told presenter Justin Webb, they were likely to recall Lord Coe for more questions.
