Sailors compete for historic Canford Cup

Lou Hannan

Available for over a year

One of the biggest regattas in the south's sailing calendar is on this weekend. The biennial gathering has became a regular fixture to celebrate the millennium, but it's roots go back to early Victorian times. And this year sailors will be competing for the historic Canford Cup. The regatta is run by the combined clubs in Poole harbour, as president Andrew Pearce explained to BBC Radio Solent's Neil Sackley.
